Upcoming Repak Deadlines

Attention Repak Members

The submission deadline for your Repak Packaging Statistical Return form for the period January to June 2010 is fast approaching. All submissions must be made online by the 21st of August 2010 and there is a penalty system in operation for late submissions so it is recommended that procedures are put in place to ensure the deadlines are met.

Food Waste Regulations

 The new Waste Management (Food Waste) Regulations 2009 come into effect from 1st July 2010 in Ireland. The new Regulations are designed to promote the segregation and beneficial use of food waste arising in the commercial sector. 

The Regulations are intended to impose obligations on the main generators of food waste including shops, supermarkets, forecourts, state buildings where food is prepared, restaurants and cafes, hot food outlets, canteens, hotels and large guest houses. 

GRIPS UK Launch

Greenstreets recently launched its integrated packaging management software tool GRIPS in the United Kingdom. The tool was developed in-house and is designed to simplify the preparation and submission of packaging reports.

It maintains control of all data onsite and ensures minimal disruption to core activities, while at the same time alerting firms to the potential cost savings that may be achievable whilst managing their waste.

FM Ireland Exhibition

Greenstreets are exhibiting at the Facilities Management Ireland exhibition at the RDS, Dublin on March 23rd and 24th 2010. You are invited to visit us at Stand F27 where we will be providing a free consultation to all visitors and discussing any energy or carbon related issues that you may have.

Castlecool, a cold storage, warehousing and logistics company based in Co. Monaghan recently collected an SFA National Small Business Award. The company scooped the award in the services category and boasts a customer base comprising most of the major food producers in the country.
